The future leaders of America (go back »)

Personally I don't think its fair that the Youth of today are expected to triple the accomplishments of the previous generation. That doesnt mean I don't think we will, I just think its wrong to expect it. It's wierd that some of my peers are expected by our teachers to spend summer vacation at internships and labs.. they consider it a "moral obligation" to use the "gifts" God gave us to help others (I go to a Catholic school). Even stranger is the sense of urgency my generation has seemed to develop. Graduate High School... go to college at eighteen...graduate at twenty-one...specialize...get a job before you turn 30, so you can start a family because God forbid you hit middle age ( 40 ) without your whole life accomplished because everyone knows life ends at 65 (if you're lucky.. if not; earlier)
